10th Annual Breakfast Eye Opener

Friday, September 28, 2012

This year’s Breakfast was such a success! Thank you to everyone who attended and supported this important event.  We raised a record-setting $79,000! Attendees had fun participating in our Live Tweet, and the non-Tweeters enjoyed reading the comments. Our speakers (Carrie, Sherry, Karen, and Pam) had powerful words to share that left an impact on everyone:

Carrie hugging daughterCarrie: “The day that I left him, my 6-year-old daughter turned to me and said, ‘Mommy, I’m proud of you. You are finally standing up for yourself.'”

(Carrie’s mother): “We developed a habit of constantly looking over our shoulder wherever we went to make sure he wasn’t following us.”

(Carrie’s friend): “When Carrie came to stay with us, she was wiped out emotionally.”

“I couldn’t enjoy the experience of my own daughter losing her baby teeth, because all I could see was my mother’s bloody mouth after my father punched her.”

And there are the live Tweets to remind us how our guests were touched by their words:

“Can’t imagine seeing my daughter suffer like that.”

“A very inspirational morning at #SAVEBfast. The strength of the survivors is incredible.”

“I love you guys you saved my moms life.”
