October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

There are many ways you can get involved with the movement and a good time to start is now, during Domestic Violence Awareness Month! Wear purple in support of victims, donate to support SAVE’s free domestic violence victim services and programs, or sign up to volunteer! We also invite you to join us at City Council meetings at which SAVE’s work will be honored. SAVE received Proclamations in early October from the Alameda County Board of Supervisors and the City of Hayward. Upcoming dates and locations of presentations are:

  • Newark City Council Meeting – Thursday, October 12th at 7:30 pm
  • San Leandro City Council Meeting – Monday, October 16th at 7 pm
  • Fremont City Council Meeting – Tuesday, October 17th at 7 pm
  • Union City Council Meeting – Tuesday, October 24th at 7 pm

Other ways you can support the movement and encourage safe relationships is to request a free SAVE Talks Presentation at your workplace, for your social, faith, or service group, and elsewhere. We welcome the opportunity to provide community education and outreach to all. Empower yourself and others to recognize the warning signs of domestic violence and healthy relationship dynamics.

An Evening of Empowerment: Hero Edition

SAVE’s September 30th Evening of Empowerment gala was a huge success! We celebrated our heroes, SAVE’s clients, and talked about yours — the individuals and inspirations that have shaped you and, in turn, our communities. Sharing our stories strengthens us all. To our guests: thank you for joining us; to our sponsors and other donors: thank you for supporting SAVE families, and to our volunteers: thank you for giving of your time, talent, and treasure so generously.

We encourage you to stand with SAVE in support of those we serve. If you’re unable to attend, please make a donation in support of SAVE families.
