2024 Annual Report We are delighted to share with you our impact report for Fiscal Year 2023-2024. As we enter our 48th year of service to the Tri-City area we continue to evolve and expand to meet the needs of of survivors of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV). Founded in 1976 by a group of Tri-City women, SAVE started as a 6-bed shelter and has grown to a 24-bed shelter, shelter alternative, and housing program, along with a robust portfolio of supportive and educational services. From hotline to housing, prevention to intervention, SAVE remains true to our founder’s vision of comprehensive, survivor-centered services. 25% of all women and upwards of 10% of men will experience some form of physical, sexual or emotional abuse during their lifetime. More than 50% of transgender or gender nonconforming people report being abused at the hands of a partner. It does not have to be this way. Intimate Partner Violence is common, but it should never be normalized, and programs like those offered through SAVE make a real difference in not only providing a path toward safety for survivors of abuse but also helping create the cultural change that makes IPV less likely to occur in the first place. In addition to our flagship programs like our 24/7 crisis line and domestic violence safe house, we have added a Specialized Emergency Housing Program that allows us to place survivors who might not otherwise seek help at a mainstream shelter in one of our partner motels and provide them the same services our safe house residents receive, such as food, case management, and support services. Our Community Education team has expanded our prevention services into 8 schools across Alameda and Santa Clara County and more than doubled the attendance at our annual youth-led violence prevention conference, Symbiosis. We have also been awarded a grant from HUD, which will allow us to expand our housing program next year and provide rental subsidies to more than 15 survivors and their families. Thank you for your ongoing support of SAVE and our growing services. Your partnership has been crucial to our success and as you read this year’s report, I hope you share in our pride for what we have accomplished and excitement for where we are headed.
